Forum Romanum

During our vacation in Rome, I was lucky to witness this amazing golden hour (November 03rd, 2017). The typical sunrise shot, when the sun is still not up, was not working that morning, because it was by far too cloudy. But I didn’t want to give up and stayed where I was, even though it was freezing cold. The golden hour was spectacular and getting up early was well worth it in the end.

Ponte Umberto

We spend three sunsets at the bridge “Ponte Umberto” during our vacation in Rome between October 30th and November 03rd, 2017. For these shots I used a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens. Each of three days was completely different. In my opinion the focal length around 70 mm worked quite well. These final pictures consist of an overlay of two shots made at different times. The first shot during golden hour and the second one at blue hour, when the beautiful lights came up.
The bridge is public and can be accessed 24/7.

Myanmar

Myanmar was the first Southeast Asian country we visited. That’s why we were pretty nervous prior to the journey, but as we arrived there, we instantly fell in love with this wonderful country and the kindhearted people.

During our time in Myanmar, we had a tight program that took us to different places all over the country: the charming cities Yangon and Mandalay with their surroundings, the beautiful ancient city of Bagan, a short and cooling stay in Kalaw, and the impressive and relaxing Inle Lake.

We compiled a few impressions of our journey in March 2016 and hope we can inspire some of you to visit this great place that has so much to offer…

Cambodia

We decided to spend new year in Cambodia. It was a great decision. We fell in love with this country. Not only the amazing temples let us feel like this, it was more the kindness of the people living here.

The first few days we spend exploring the temples by ourself and chilling at the 200 m long pool of the fantastic Angkor Village Resort. After new year, we went on a guided 4-day tour with Régis Binard from Angkor Travel Photography, which was great as we got to know places away from the tourist trails. We can fully recommend this tour! Get in love with the country, meet locals and improve your photography skills.

It’s very easy to move around in Siem Reap by yourself. You can find a tuktuk or taxi everywhere on the street or book it at the hotel. The driver will carry you the whole day from sunrise to sunset. Or you can rent a bike, if you want to be more active.

Enjoy our impressions below…
