Pura Ulun Danu Bratan

Pura Bratan is a location which is hardly connected to luck for weather conditions. We had always either bad weather with deep fog or sunny without any clouds. Maybe just bad luck. Nevertheless, this is an amazing photography location for landscape, travel and Instagram photography. You can just enter the area before opening ours through the main entry.

If you want to rent a boat before opening hours, just ask some of the workers in the area, they can organize you a boat for small fee. Really friendly stuff.

This location is also great to meet other passionate photographers. I meet Stefan & Janina from thewolf0ftravel on their world travel. Thanks to Janina I could take some beautiful photos for Instagram, as replacement for Elise, who preferred to take a longer sleep. Love you anyway sweety 🙂

Get a sunrise to sunset permit a day earlier to enter the museum by your own. The official opening hour is around 9:00 am and closing hour is around 1:00 pm. Wait for the perfect low light to get the best light play between the room of the abandoned houses. I recommend mainly the buildings around the below mentioned GPS Position. They are the most popular and most spectacular, but nevertheless check out also the other houses. There is always something to find out.

Dead Vlei

What a great and calm place. If you see the sun going down at this place, while hearing the silence of nature. Just amazing. There is no special position in Dead Vlei. There are so many beautiful trees and perspectives from you can choose. Be creative.
To be able to stay a bit longer in the park, make sure that you stay in the Sossus Dune Lodge. In this case you can start your tour one hour before sunrise and end one hour after sunset. But keep in mind that Dead Vlei is around 60km from the Lodge and the last few kilometers are only accessible with an 4×4 vehicle and lower speed.

Malojapass & Julierpass

Finally at 8am, the street from Sankt Moritz to the amazing Malojapass was opened. This is what we waited yesterday for. This pass is so amazing, that we could not leave without seeing it. First it was very cloudy, but when the sun came of, it was so fantastic. After taking some shots (some means hundreds) we were heading to our next stop Davos. On the way we drover over the Julierpass and stopped also here for some dronies. I think some of these shots will end up as prints on our wall.
